The Black and Minority Ethnic Residents Group (BMER) are pleased to present the first ever North Kensington Multi-Cultural History Week Looking Back with Pride.

The week aims to celebrate the influence of the many different cultures in the local area. It coincides with the 50th anniversary of the Windrush, one of the first boats to arrive in England from the West Indies. Our History Week focuses on this historic event and the stories of Black and ethnic minority peoples arriving in North Kensington during the 1950s and 60s.

Our programme includes lectures, poetry, comedy, fashion, dance, discussion, music and much, much more. All the events take place at the newly refurbished Tabernacle Community Centre and most of them are free.

The Multi-Cultural History Week is designed to entertain, educate and inform everyone about the different cultures within the community. There is a wide ranging programme and at least one event for everyone. So please come along.
